After a newborn dies during delivery, the morals and professionalism of an OBGYN, Nina, come under scrutiny amid rumors that she performs illegal abortions for those in need.

DEA KULUMBEGASHVILI

Dea Kulumbegashvili is a Georgian writer/director based in Tbilisi. She studied film directing at Columbia University School of the Arts and Media Studies in New York. Her debut short INVISIBLE SPACES was nominated for Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2014, the first film from independent Georgia in an Official Competition. Her second short, LÉTHÉ, premiered at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight in 2016. Her debut feature, BEGINNING (2020), was in Cannes' Official Selection and won four awards at San Sebastian, the FIPRESCI Prize at TIFF, and screened at NYFF and Busan. It was Georgia’s 2021 Oscar entry. APRIL is her second feature.
