After his father abandons him to become an Orthodox monk, Sandro struggles to reconcile his duty to God and his awakening sexuality, which manifests in uncontrollable ways and leads him to questionable behavior, as he searches for meaning and belonging in the turbulent society of post-Soviet Georgia.

ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಬದ್ಧ ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿ ಆಗುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತೊರೆದ ನಂತರ ಸಾಂಡ್ರೊ ತಳಮಳಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಸೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಾಗೃತ ಲೈಂಗಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಮತೋಲನ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ ಎಂದು ಚಿಂತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇದು ಅನಿಯಂತ್ರಿತವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯೇ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಾರ್ಹವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಸೋವಿಯತ್‌ ಜಾರ್ಜಿಯಾದ ಪ್ರಕ್ಷುಬ್ಧ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದರ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಸಾಂಡ್ರೋ ಹುಡುಕಲಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

GEORGE SIKHARULIDZE

George Sikharulidze is a Georgian-American filmmaker and instructor with a B.S. in Media Communications from NYU and an M.F.A. in Film Directing from Columbia University. His short films include THE FISH THAT DROWNED (2014), RED APPLES (2016), A NEW YEAR (2018), and FATHERLAND (2019), which premiered at prestigious festivals like Clermont Ferrand, TIFF, and Sundance. His debut feature, LOOK AT ME (2023), was developed at the Cinéfondation Residence at Cannes, Torino Script Lab, and Feature Lab. George has taught screenwriting and directing at NYU and Columbia University.
